Asahi Beverages welcomes announcement of Container Deposit Scheme for Victoria
Asahi Beverages welcomes the news from Victorian Premier, Dan Andrews, that the State Government will implement a container deposit scheme.
Peter Margin, Chairman Asahi Beverages: “As a major beverage company, we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment.
“Last week, we announced our intention to form a joint venture with Pact Group and Cleanaway to jointly develop a plastic pelletising facility to close the loop and contribute to a circular economy, helping turn plastic bottles back into new bottles.
“Introducing a container deposit scheme in Victoria will help improve recycling rates. We’re ready to support and play our part in implementing an efficient and well-run container deposit scheme in Victoria, which aligns with other schemes in operation throughout Australia.”
